SfC signs a memorandum of understanding with ICCR

As part of its international engagement activities, Shareholders for Change has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR).

Founded in 1971 by a coalition of religious institutional investors, the ICCR has become a long-standing actor in the socially responsible investing field, now representing over 300 global institutional investors coordinating shareholder engagement on social and environmental issues. Based in the United States, ICCR  has played a  historic role in using shareholder resolutions to challenge corporate practices on issues including apartheid in South Africa, human rights and climate-related issues.

This new agreement provides for a swifter exchange of information regarding engagement activities and target companies, while also allowing the staff of both networks to participate in each other’s thematic working groups

Coordination of international efforts, particularly on sensitive global issues such as the development of autonomous weapons, is of utmost importance to foster effective joint engagement.
