We are happy to share that Steyler Ethik Bank has joined Shareholders for Change. Our network has now 20 members located all across Europe, with ca. €45bn in assets under management.

Steyler Ethik Bank offers fair and sustainable financial services. Founded in 1964 by the Catholic congregation of the Steyler Missionaries (SVD), the bank is open to all private customers, regardless of their religious beliefs. Investments are made exclusively in line with strong social and environmental criteria. Under the Steyler Fair Invest brand, it has launched four sustainable investment funds authorised for distribution in Germany and Austria. Since its establishment, Germany’s oldest ethical bank has supported Steyler aid projects in 80 countries with over €110m.

“We are very pleased to join Shareholders for Change. Steyler Ethik Bank places great importance on actively fulfilling its role as a sustainable investor. We have already gained a great deal of experience through our engagement efforts, particularly with small and medium-sized enterprises. However, we also want to make our voice heard and drive change at large international companies as well. This can only be achieved by joining forces with like-minded partners. Shareholders for Change is a strong network of financial actors with whom we share common values. We are convinced that we can learn a lot from our new partners within the network but also bring in a unique perspective and innovative ideas. For example, we can contribute our experience with the Responsible Finance Academy, which is an engagement seminar,” said Norbert Wolf, CEO of Steyler Ethik Bank.

Ugo Biggeri, President of SfC, is also looking forward to the cooperation: “We are delighted to welcome Steyler Ethik Bank into our network. The bank brings a profound legacy of values-driven finance and a specialised expertise in shareholder engagement. Their long-standing history of turning ethical principles into impact makes them a great partner in our mission.”
